1Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using MedBill Auditor (the "App") or the website at medbillapp.com (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Blackspire Molecular LTD ("we", "us", or "our"). Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
2Description of Service
MedBill Auditor provides informational medical-bill auditing. We extract line items from your uploaded bill image, compare them against CMS Medicare fee schedule rates and billing rules, and identify potential errors, overcharges, or anomalies.
The Service is informational only. It does not constitute medical, legal, or financial advice and is not a medical device. Results are estimates based on publicly available CMS Medicare rates. These rates may differ from your insurer's contracted rates, your specific plan terms, or the rates applicable to your provider type or geography. We do not represent that any finding is legally actionable or that any identified amount is recoverable.
3Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a purchase. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. The App is primarily designed for reviewing bills issued by US healthcare providers and compared against US CMS Medicare rates. Users outside the US may use the App but findings may be less applicable to non-US billing systems.
4Accounts
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at privacy@medbillapp.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.
5Payments
Scanning and receiving a findings summary is free. An Audit Report — a detailed PDF with line-by-line analysis and a dispute letter — is available as a one-time purchase of $9.99 per report, processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
All billing and refund matters are governed by the respective app store's policies. We do not collect, store, or process your payment card or bank details directly. Purchase tokens are managed by RevenueCat on our behalf.
All sales are final unless required otherwise by applicable consumer protection law or app store policy. Please contact the relevant app store for refund requests.
6Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Upload bills or documents that you are not authorised to review
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or extract data from the App or Site
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its underlying infrastructure
- Use the App in a way that places unreasonable load on our systems
- Misrepresent the source or content of any bill you upload
We reserve the right to impose reasonable usage limits and to enforce them by rate-limiting or suspending access.
7No Guarantee of Outcome
MedBill Auditor identifies potential billing errors based on publicly available CMS Medicare data and rule-based analysis. We do not guarantee that:
- Any identified discrepancy constitutes a billing error under your specific plan or contract
- A provider or insurer will accept, investigate, or resolve any dispute you submit
- Any amount flagged as potentially recoverable will in fact be refunded or reduced
We are not your legal representative, patient advocate, or billing agent. Dispute outcomes depend entirely on your provider, insurer, plan terms, and applicable law.
8Intellectual Property
The App, the Site, and all content we produce — including our audit engine, report templates, dispute letter frameworks, and the MedBill Auditor brand — are owned by or licensed to Blackspire Molecular LTD and protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of the bill data you upload. By using the App you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that data solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9Disclaimers
THE APP AND ALL FINDINGS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The App is informational only. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and does not create any healthcare provider–patient relationship. Always consult qualified medical, legal, and financial professionals before acting on any analysis produced by the App.
10Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Blackspire Molecular LTD and its officers, directors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of anticipated savings, or reliance on any audit finding.
In no event will our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the App exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) £50 GBP.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections.
11Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Blackspire Molecular LTD and its affiliates, officers, and employees from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App in violation of these Terms; (b) any bill or document you upload that you were not authorised to share; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of a third party.
12Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of material changes.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance.
13Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via the Settings screen. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App. Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 14 survive termination.
14Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of the country in which you reside.
