1How to delete your account
You can request deletion of your MedBill Auditor account and all associated data in two ways.
Option A — In-app (instant)
This is the fastest method. Open the app, go to Settings → Delete Account, and confirm when prompted. Deletion begins immediately.
Option B — Email request
If you can no longer access the app — for example because you have lost access to your login email — send a deletion request to privacy@medbillapp.com from the email address associated with your account. Include the subject line "Account deletion request". We will action the request and confirm by email within 30 days.
2What gets deleted
When your account is deleted — by either method — the following data is permanently removed from our systems:
- Your account login (Firebase Authentication entry)
- All bill records associated with your account, including extracted billing codes, charged amounts, provider names, and service dates
- All audit results and findings
- All generated audit report PDFs stored in your account history
Note on bill images: Bill images (photos or PDFs you upload) are already deleted from our servers the moment processing completes — they are never retained in your account and are therefore not part of the account-deletion step.
3What is temporarily retained
After account deletion, minimal server-level access and security logs — records of authentication events and API calls — are retained for a limited period for security and fraud-prevention purposes. These logs do not contain your bill content, audit findings, or report data. They are routinely purged on a rolling basis in line with our standard log-retention schedule.
No bill images, billing codes, audit results, or report files are retained after account deletion.
4Deletion is permanent
Account and data deletion cannot be undone. Once confirmed, your account, bill history, and all generated reports are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. If you later wish to use MedBill Auditor again, you will need to create a new account.
